The bacterial genus Pseudomonas represents a great resource of lipopeptidic molecules. Till now, more than 120 molecules spread in 14 families are known. Several bacterial strains isolated at the laboratory showed activities that can be exploited in the frame of sustainability as biosurfactant or biocontrol agent for reducing soil contamination or producing healthier diet.

Microbial metabolites are often produced only in small amount by natural strains in isolation or study conditions. To use their potential of production, it is necessary to define relevant conditions of cultivation in a bioreactor. The immobilisation of biomass as biofilm increases significantly bioreactor productvity and improves both its stability and the possibility of its integration with downstream processes.

The objective of the study consists in designing and executing a production process of lipopeptides of Pseudomonas bacteria and evaluating its efficiency. The work will investigate several kind of bioreactors (membrane aerated bioreactor and fluidized bed bioreactor) and the impact on the production conditions on microorganism physiology.

The improvement of the production process efficiency will benefit the project ANR Ecophyto Maturation CERES, which focuses on the development of a solution of biocontrol at field scale for Septoria tritici blotch.
