Job Profile:

The recruited colleague will teach food hygiene and safety, quality and standards, biotechnologies and processes in food industry, biological origin risk management, critical analysis of practices in the food industry, physicochemical origin risk management and nutritional, sustainable management in the food industry at Licence and Master levels. He or She will contribute with his or her expertise, contacts, and network to the development of new educational programs (continuing education, international courses, apprenticeship programs). This will allow to adapt the educational offer to the needs of professionals. One of the tasks will consist in assessing the potential for opening an international “Food safety” educational program and to develop administrative and educational resources for it.

He or She will be a master’s thesis supervisor for students, will evaluate the internship reports, will chair the master thesis defense presentation jury, participate in orientation interviews with students. He or She will also participate in supervision of students during a social project they carry out during their first year (this supervision is equivalent to 45h of courses).

The recruited colleague will also participate in the development of virtual reality applications in the Food quality and safety domain and will potentially take the responsibility of the master’s program Food quality and safety.
As for research activities, the recruited colleague will get involved in research projects developed the University of Lille, the Charles Viollette Institute, Transfrontalière N ° 1158 BioEcoAgro INRAE research unit, concerning the participation of specialized (secondary) metabolites in the quality and safety of foods of plant origin in the context of One Health (a project which promotes an integrated, systemic and unified approach to public, animal and environmental health at local, national and global scales). In particular, he or she will contribute to the work developed within the mixed University-Enterprise Chic41Health team, the objectives of which are to explore the use of plants as foods after processing.

The team wishes to be reinforced by a researcher with doctoral degree, possessing solid knowledge in plant chemistry and interactions between moleculae within a plant matrix. He or She will contribute to strengthening the existing collaborations and will develop projects with new actors from the public and/or private sectors.

Later, the recruited person will be in charge of the laboratory’s in vitro plant collection and to co-supervise doctoral students and students of different levels.
